This is Chaos, my pet mallard duck. She was born around May 20th two years ago. I raised her from a duckling, and she has always done her best to live up to her name! She likes to swim in her pool and eat bugs and slugs of all sizes. This is her picture from last fall. Lately, she has spent more time in the wild with other ducks than at my home in Olympia, and she recently became the proud parent of lots of little ducklings. It is hard to count them right now, particularly as they are always moving, and she usually has at least one tucked under her wing for safekeeping!
Chaos seems to be a good mom so far, and spends all her time fussing over them, but I look forward to them getting bigger, so she'll be more able to bring them closer to me, and we can watch them all grow up! It will be interesting to see if they cause as much chaos as she did as she was growing up!
