This is Seamus. He is an Old Irish billy goat. Critically endangered, we have only a couple hundred left, most wild and very hard to find in rural Ireland.
Seamus is turning four years old next month and his horns will continue to grow every year. Some males horns grow to a over a metre. His friends are Frank and Ned and he has a very quiet nature. He prides himself on being a gentleman, but has a fun loving side too. He loves to play fight with his buddies and it can seem quite serious but they always stay friends.
Here is the link to an article written about them last week. Also on irishrarebreedsconference.ie you will find a pdf brochure all about the history of this beautify regal animal.
We are doing all we can to save this ancient breed but with numbers so low it is going to take a massive effort. Here is our website: oldirishgoatsociety.com, Happy Saint Patrick's Day and thank you for your interest!
