This is Periquin, also called Rinri for short. He is an Amazona Autumnalis - that is the Latin name for Red-lored Amazon Parrot. Periquin is a mischievous and happy parrot (though moody sometimes) who had a sad story. A bird seller had him in a small cage, he mistreated him and Periquin was born with a deformed leg, people did not want to buy it because of his defect. My great-grandmother bought it and it was her beloved pet for 20 years, until she died and Periquin was very sad.
Then, he came to me and we became better friends. He is special, in spite of his deformed leg, he dances with great rhythm and tries to imitate me. He preens my hair and gives me many kisses.
He loves to play with his turkey stuffed animal (Nobody else should touch it, he thinks) and he likes to throw it from one place to another. He runs around the house screaming incoherencies although in most of the time he acts like a guardian dog and he guards the entrance of my room so that nobody enters. Periquin loves to scratch his head, is very affectionate with me and aggressive with others. Something funny about Periquin is that he hates to be bathed and run to hide whenever he hears water falling. He is the best pet in the world.
