This is our rooster, his name is Big Red and he is a Rhode Island Red Rooster. He is about two years old in this photo from that summer, when I caught him looking handsome perched on the fence. He lives here in Montague Michigan, which is near Lake Superior on the "left edge" of the Michigan mitten!
We simply got him from Tractor Supply as a chick. Seeing him attempt his first crow was so cute! And he grew up to be this big, handsome boy. He is not mean either. Lots of people have rooster decorations, we have an real rooster! And he is a good one, he is always looking after his girl companions! We love Big Red!
