Nightshade came to me March 19th 2018. I was unsure she would make a good pet, as the lady picked her out for me. To begin with she was very nervous and hard to hold. She managed to get out of her cage and I had to catch her. Once I added her successfully to a colony of females, however, she calmed down a lot. Nowadays I don't have to chase her to pick her up. She has turned out to be one of my easiest to catch mice.
She is not really lovey dovey, but puts up with stroking without protest. She is a very pretty girl, I am not sure she is a lavender self but looks like it to me. She is alpha mouse of her cage, but she is very sweet about it. She never chews whiskers or fur, and rarely throws her weight around except with treat food. She gets fed peanuts, pumpkin seeds, freeze dried mealworms, bird seed, and sometimes yogurt flavored dog cookies. Overall a very nice girl. She seems to be less afraid of me due to the other girls in her colony being calm around me.
