Kermit is my Green Cheek Conure, and he is a male. I've only had him about a month so far, and he is just four months old. I decided I wanted to add a conure to my flock because of their playful nature and friendliness. He has lived up to that reputation in every way!
While my other birds are not very playful, Kermit is an acrobat and hangs by one foot by his toys. He knows several tricks: wave, wings, turn around, recall, and "the bat," where he hangs from my finger on command. He is pretty affectionate and likes head scratches, but can entertain himself well while out of the cage. He loves to hang upside down on his playgym and shred toys to pieces. He flies after me if I leave the room. Kermit's favorite food is either blackberries or raisins, and I love how he holds the food in his foot. He is so funny to watch!
