This is Lucille the 'tiel, also known as Lucy, LuLu, Lolita, Lily, Lucita ... the list goes on! I adopted Lucy when she was three from a petstore where someone dropped her off. She is very sweet and cuddly with just the right amount of sass thrown in. She is flighted.
I work from home, and Lucy the cockatiel will sometimes be ring leader - she and my Eclectus both come waddling down the hallway. She will call sometimes, and I used to not answer because I thought that would be teasing but, as another person on the Parrot Forum mentioned one day, I realized this was her way of "checking in" and now, after a few responses, she will go back to being busy with preening/napping/eating.
It is so nice be able to let both birds out all day. They come out on their own in the morning, and put themselves to bed in the evening. I love that I don't have to provide their food all at once. I will add treats, fresh foods through the day, and I find they eat better this way. Lucy is such a dear, and loves attention, as you can see.
