This is my pet rat, Maow (like meow, but with an A). She is about one and a half years old. I bought her from a pet store, and saved her tiny furry self from becoming snake food!! She is probably actually two, being as she was nearly fully grown when I bought her. She only recently came out of her shell, though. Up until last September, she had been fairly timid. She now lets me hold her, and scratch her back!
I recently bought her a cage mate, because I know rats are social creatures and like to have a companion. I decided to name her new friend Duchess!! Surprise surprise, her cage mate was pregnant!! And Maow loves having the babies follow her around and climb on her! It is the cutest thing ever!
