Bread is so so special to me because when he was not even one day old his auntie bit a huge hole in his throat just after midnight, and I never thought that he would make it through the night, so I prepared for the worst. We separated him and his mummy from the other one and we prayed all night that he would live until the next morning when he was rushed to the vets. Thankfully he did and he was in there for five or six worrisome hours, and when I got the phone call to say that he was alive and I could go pick him up, I nearly cried with relief. His throat had been stapled together and he had to have cream on it four to five times every day and he had to have eye drops for an eye infection and medication for the pain. He had to go back two weeks later for the staples to be removed. He was so brave, he is a little fighter and he made it through and has since become a proud daddy to seven lovely piggies who are all so adorable. This little man means the world to me.
Bread is a big guinea pig now. He has a really bouncy personality and he is very cheeky, he loves lots of attention and loves being out of his cage having cuddles, giving out kisses and playing with other guinea pigs. He sometimes answers to his name and he loves playing with new toys, but gets bored of them easily. He is very bossy, and very messy, he loves meeting new people and gets along with my nana's dogs really well. He wheeks and loves the attention I give him when he does wheek.
He absolutely loves his fruit and veg, he loves cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sprouts and cabbage most, but likes trying new foods. He loves being outside eating the fresh grass, and he hates having a bath but loves the hairdryer. He likes my pup, he comes and stands at the side of his cage and starts wheeking. When she goes to the cage he nibbles on her ear then runs and hides in his bed. He is very fast and likes to make me chase him sometimes. He likes digging and hiding, he also likes to scare me and lays really still until I open his cage and go towards him. Then he dives out of the way and looks at me as if he finds if funny. He can be a very funny fella at times, and loves jumping up at the side of his cage until I get him out. He also loves being wrapped up in a fleece and watching the telly.
I am proud to say that I am his mummy, I love him with all my heart, I hope that you do to.
