Miss Fluffy's name started out as a nickname due to her being such a twerp as a baby. Before she was even weaned she managed to climb down my leg when I wasn't looking and was on the floor. It took me 10 or 15 minutes to catch her. It took her a while to get less feisty. She was born September 25th from a mum that was apparently pregnant when I brought her home. This is sadly fairly common. I have no rescue near me that takes rodents, so I have to get mice from the petstore.
Back to Miss Fluffy, I made a booboo thinking I put a girl in with her and it was a boy, so she was pregnant herself before I knew it. She lives in a cage where there is a loft which she favors as her nest. I included a picture of their cage. She ended up having nine babies and though as they got older and clung to her as she went downstairs, they just had to be in the loft. I don't know how much time she spent putting each baby back upstairs as they got older but she was very determined. She has been a spirited girl her whole life.
I have kept her four daughters and the boys I gave away to good homes. She also lives with her sister Cuddles who helped raise her litter. Interestingly Miss Fluffy was the only black mouse in her whole litter. Only four survived, and her sister Cuddles and her brothers Dandelion and Spudnick are all orange. She adores jumping up to the top of her cage wires rather than climbing them. She has springs in her feet, and she is still relatively young.
She enjoys a new treat that my mother actually introduced, hemp heart seeds. She eats them like they are candy. They are her favorite besides pumpkin seeds and bird seed.
