I have had Ginger for around four years, now. She was the first guinea pig I had, along with Patchy (another Guinea Pig). I first got Ginger, or Gingy as my family and I like to call her, and Patchy in 2012. They were around 6 to 8 weeks old when we got them.
Ginger is one of my very special pets due to her being a really sweet guinea. She loves to be petted but if she is having a bad day, she can be a cranky girl. But she is still a little sweetie.
She is a teddy guinea pig. A Teddy guinea pig is a breed of guinea pig which is extremely fluffy - like a teddy bear. Due to that reason (and her personality) I always love to take her out of her cage and just pet her. She's so fluffy!
The first picture is a photo of Ginger, when she was eating a bit of lettuce. The lettuce was normal lettuce, not iceberg lettuce - since that can kill guinea pigs. (o.o) Iceberg lettuce has no nutrition, they need the darker green lettuces like Romaine or green leaf, anything but iceberg. She first sniffed at the lettuce but then she started to munch on it. She was really cute!
The second photo is Gingy with her first litter of little guinea pigs. A year after we got Ginger and Patchy, we decided to buy a male Guinea named Fudge. We put him in with Ginger and Patchy, and when Ginger and Patchy were at their peak point in pregnancy, we took Fudge out, due to the reason that if we left him in than he could harm the babies, and or try to mate with the two girls right after they had given birth. We didn't want that to happen so we took Fudge out and placed him into another hutch/cage we got. As he was then alone, we gave him lots of attention.
The last picture was taken just a couple of months after we got Ginger and Patchy. She was very young when we took that photo. I think she was around 14 weeks old, then. We love her very much.
