Cocoa loves climbing on the branches in her terrarium and burrowing. She is a little shy but she's very gentle and easy to handle. Cocoa's my very first snake and I love her very much.
Cocoa is my first pet snake. I decided to get her because I have a fascination with reptiles (and all animals) but also because I haven't had a pet of my own since I was ten years old, and I've been wanting one for a long time. I decided that I wanted a snake. So I looked at many different kinds and I fell in love with corn snakes. Then I researched all the care and supplies needed, contacted a local breeder, saved up my money, and made an appointment.
That day at the breeders' place, I held two pretty little corn snakes and I chose the liveliest one and took her home. The day after I got her I decided to name her Cocoa because her brown, tan, and grey pattern reminded me of hot cocoa. From the first day I brought her home she started exploring. She's a little secretive. She mostly comes out during twilight hours. I take her out for handling for 15-30 minutes every day (unless she just ate). She's very gentle and loves exploring for a way to hide in my clothes.
Cocoa is very easy to care for and could live to be 15 or 20 years old and can grow up to be two or three feet long. As long as you have the right information and materials a snake can make wonderful pet.
