Sonic is a very lazy guinea pig. During his walks, the moment he most prefers is when he returns to his fur basket. He can spend hours in his hammock. Fortunately he is very active and noisy when the meal time comes.
The story began in 2013. For all his ten years, my son wanted a guinea pig. (Hey, yes I'm a 50-year-old dad!) I was completely opposed, because I knew that my son was not a responsible boy, and that he would not take care of a small animal. But one day, despite my refusal, a small ball of black and white fur came to the house, my son named it "Pouic-Pouic." I was immediately touched by this little rodent, I took care of it during two years. He had a dental problem, so I had to feed him with a syringe several days. Despite all my efforts and several surgeries to file his teeth, Pouic-Pouic left in October 2015. The pain of losing him was so severe that I bought two more on the same day.
The first guinea pig made 10 times the turn of his cage in one second before finding the entrance to his little house. My son called him "Sonic" in reference to his speed. The second one was all red/orange he looked like a small lion, I do not know why but my son called him Mario. Mario and Sonic were very happy together, every evening at 6 pm they played like crazy by jumping all over their cage.
Very quickly, it turned out Mario had a problem in one ear. He had several interventions by the veterinarian, surgery, scanner, antibiotic for months .. he battled his sickness for ten months, he decided to leave in June 2016. Now Sonic is alone, so I spend a lot of time with him when I come home from work and on weekends. So poor Sonic's story began very sadly.
Sonic is very, very greedy, he wakes us every day at 5 AM to have his food (Sonic weighs 1kg300). He loves to play with Ben, my dog (a Coton du Tulear), and he tries to nibble the hair of his paws, fortunately Ben is very nice and lets him do this.
Sonic is not very enthusiastic about playtime, he runs for five minutes when Ben teases him, and then he will bask in his favorite basket (the one in picture) or in his hammock. He loves to sleep, and if I wake him by touching him, he will attack my hand without ever biting me, but he makes me understand not to disturb him. He is now over a year old and he just begins to purr when caressed. I think he was very affected by the death of his friend. I love him.
