This is Loki. He is a Sable Ferret who loves to get into all sorts of trouble. He is considered the leader of my fluff ball pack and he is the only one of my ferrets who has ever learned to go downstairs. Although he can go down, he has trouble coming back up. Loki is very playful, sweet, and funny as he explores and steals what is not his. Loki also likes to sleep a lot. Despite if I take him out and set him on my bed, he still curls up and resumes sleeping.
Loki was adopted by my brother in November 2014 along with two other ferrets. He was only seven months old and he was very shy. But as he explored the new environment, he became more open. Loki's routine consist of eating his food two to three times a day, playing for three or four hours daily, and sleeping for 18 hours.
At that time, I had noticed him, but never really connected much with him. It wasn't until July 2015 when his curiosity almost led to his death if it wasn't for the right timing. He ripped the stitches off his hammock inside the cage and got caught inside the hammock for about 30 or so minutes. I was not aware of it until I reached mid upstairs and heard a heavy gasping. I noticed his situation and had to destroy the hammock in order to get to him. By then, he was in shock and needed to be cooled down. After 10 minutes of dampening him, he finally responded. I kept dampening him until I saw signs that he was okay. I laid him down to get comfortable by me so he could rest to recover from his ordeal. It was the middle of the night and the nearby vet was closed so I could not take him to see if he was okay. But the following day, he was himself again. But after that day, I was becoming a concerned mother and began checking up on him. Soon I grew a connection with him that led to him being my best friend.
Throughout time, I've grown fond of him. I will always reach for him when I am feeling down. I would always reach for him if I was down, lonely, or even needing someone to talk to. And despite the fact that I know he may not be listening or cannot talk back, it comforts me to know that he is there no matter what, and can always find a way to make me smile again.
I love this lovable fuzzball so much.
