Snowflake is my rescue pony, he's my little guy. When I worked at a fall petting zoo near me, he was an animal there, and they get all of their animals from sales auctions. After a month there, he was going to the sales house. Instead, though, the owner offered me Snowflake for $99. So I took him, and rescued him from slaughter (later I found out any horses/ponies that weren't bought went to slaughter) and he's been having a spoiled life ever since. Through the years I've had him, he's made some amazing progress.
He's now almost 30 years old. We almost lost him a few weeks back. He couldn't walk because he lost so much weight and muscle mass due to his teeth being worn down to nothing because of his age. So now like the spoiled old guy that he is, he gets grain three times a day, with supplements, bulk, and timothy cubes. And he's made a healthy recovery!
Snowflake is back on his feet, and ready to bring on the summer.
