Mako the Indian Runner Duck, the Pet of the Day
Name: Mako
Age: Deceased, four years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Indian Runner Duck
Home: Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, USA

Mako recently passed away, but while he was around he was a fantastic duck. I could do anything with him and he loved being around people. I could bring him into the house put him on the couch. and he would just go to sleep on my lap. He especially loved children and was so gentle with them. He could even do tricks like lay down, jump up, walk on a leash, and come when called. Mako loved all treats but his favorites were hard boiled eggs, green beans, and strawberries.

His best friend was my Scottish Terrier, Nova. They would often lay together out in the duck pen, they would lay on the couch together, and spend plenty of time grooming and playing with each other. Mako is the dad to two of my current ducks and while they are related to him and share many traits with him, they aren't him. It does lessen the pain of losing him, though.
