Tiki is cute, smart, interesting, and funny. We've had him about a year. He doesn't talk yet, but mimics whistling and other noises he hears. We bought him from a pet store so he was not socialized, it took months for him to even let us hold him. But now he loves us and doesn't want to be left alone! We are not sure of his gender, but refer to him as a "he" - with conures you need a DNA test to be sure.
One of his favorite spots to hang out is on top of my head, playing with my hair, or on me or my husband's shoulder where he'll nuzzle our cheek and neck.
As is typical with conures, he can have an attitude, and will let us know when he's not happy- with his beak lol - but we love him no matter what! Tiki loves to take baths in the sink with the water running over him ... sometimes he'll even fall asleep like that. Another interesting thing is he poops on command, although he'll still poop on us if he really has to go, but we are working on having him let us know before that happens. He is still a young bird, so we look forward to many years ahead!
