When I first met Rain it was a huge surprise for me. Five years ago my grandpa had told me he was going to take me with him to help him with a job. Once we got to where she was my grandpa surprised me and said, "If you like this horse I will buy her for you." I hadn't seen the horse yet, but when I did it was love at first sight, so I told my grandpa that I really liked her.
Since then I decided to name her Rain from the movie "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" and we have created a really special bond that I never had with any of my other horses. We have gone through the good and bad together. There was one year that we had to be there for each other because my farm had lost to of our horses one to a rare gene (that one was her foal) and the other to old age (which had become her best horse buddy) and I was really depressed and so was she so I was always outside with her and spending time and that is one of the things that really made our bond even stronger.
Now we are able to calm each other down. She calms me down if I'm having a panic attack, if I'm depressed, or if I'm stressed out, and I calm her down when she gets scared or startled. Even though we are both pretty lazy we still find plenty of things to do whether that is just kinda playing around, going for a short calming ride, or me just getting on her back and just looking up at the sky, we both don't care how we're our spending time as long as we're together is all that matters to us.
