This is my dwarf hamster Tinkerbelle. She is very special to me for many reasons. I have wanted a dwarf hamster for many years, but previously never had one as a pet. Until my boyfriend was at the Humane Society and saw eight dwarf hamsters up for adoption. He knew that I needed some cheering up and adopted Tinkerbelle. She was waiting at his house with the entire hamster set up.
Now she's a happy little girl living with me. She's very intelligent and friendly. As soon as she hears me coming over to the cage she runs out of her igloo and right to the door so she can step up on my hand for her romp on me and my bed! She loves to dig tunnels in the bedding and also climb up on my neck. When I have her out I always give her a piece of banana chip which usually she stores in her cheeks for later. Then it's nap time in her igloo. She gets her privacy by blocking the igloo doorway with lots and lots of cottonballs. Of course, being a hamster she also gets up during the night for lots of late night snacks. She is very special to me because she has brought joy and warmth to my heart when I needed it the most.
