Tory is my family's lovely mare, purchased around 11 years ago. She is
an amazing trail mare as well as a great show mare, winning quite a few
ribbons in her past. She is a very gentle mare, great with children, and
will wait for others to catch up to her when trail riding.
She has had one baby but the day it was born, there was a storm and the poor foal had been running around near the creek while Tory was drinking in the pasture. The foal fell into the creek, getting caught between two rocks. He was on his back, and sadly he drowned before anyone realized what had happened. She was a good mother when he was first born though. She treated him amazingly, so naturally that it almost seemed like she had babies tons of times. She had a gentle, caring personality, especially to her baby.
She loves playing with the big red horse-ball we have for the horses. She loves going into the pasture and playing with it! She's very affectionate. She doesn't like being to herself; she has a buddy that we refer to as her sister though they aren't related. They stick together and are best buddies.
Tory is a very special mare in my family. She is definitely one of the best we currently own. I don't know what we'd do without her!
