Fray is a one-year-old black mismarked hooded rat. Somebody contacted me when they saw Fray being sold for $1 on Facebook. Apparently, these people bought him for their small children, who then got bored of him, and they didn't want to take care of him. They were keeping him alone in a tiny cage and feeding him Meow Mix, which had caused him to itch out most of his fur. They also let their cat scratch him up so badly that he had an abscess that took me nearly a year to treat and hundreds of dollars. He almost had to have surgery to repair it. He's covered in scars from the cat. They claimed to have not even known he was injured ... On top of that, he had lice.
Today, Fray is a happy and healthy boy. His coat gas grown back, he's on a healthy diet, his scars and abscess are healed, and he lives in a 6-foot-tall cage with his many brothers. He is the squishiest cuddle bug you could ever imagine. I love him to pieces and his happiness was worth every penny. He's an amazing young man.
