Shakespeare is my first rabbit. When I was little, my mom promised
me that when I was seventeen I could have a rabbit, so after
around thirteen years, I finally was able to get Shakespeare. Mom and
Dad surprised me when I got home with Shakespeare and another
rabbit, Sherlock. Shakespeare had lots of fleas and looked pretty
sickly; we actually thought he was going to die soon. But after a
flea treatment and some love and food, Shakespeare perked up
dramatically.
When the big storm came about earlier this month that flooded South
Carolina, their hutch fell over from the wind. Sherlock died a few
days later for unknown reasons, but Shakespeare has shown no
problems whatsoever. I was so worried I was going to come home one
day and find him dead, too.
I haven't had Shakespeare very long, only a few weeks, but I
already love him so much, even though he's going through his
"terrible four months" and keeps nibbling everyone. Despite all
the nibbles, he is a very sweet and calm bunny.
He fur is really soft and it calms me when I'm stressed out from
school to be able to pet him and watch him hop around our living
room. He's a very curious bunny and loves to climb and jump and
jump off of things. He really likes to eat carrots that have been
shredded for him, strawberries, and timothy hay. I love him!
