As a trio-tribute to Caramel as well as her parents, I will first introduce you to Taco and Chocolate.
Taco, her dad, had the colors of pearl and gold. Chocolate had mixed colors of white and many shades of brown. Although people might not have noticed her at first glance, she had the most subtle beauty and cutest button nose. My sister Kristi and I would often take Taco and Chocolate to our neighborhood park, where we would let them play and eat grass freely. The cute, fluffy duo would take turns leading each other in a line, and when my sister and I would start walking they would adjust their route to follow our footsteps. Even when they were put at a starting position some distance from their yard, they found their way home by following the sidewalk. Both of them possessed the power of adorableness, brains that were as bright as a light bulb, and had hearts as big as big can be.
During the time spent with our pets, we really got to know just how similar we are. Guinea Pigs yawn, sneeze, eat, sleep, groom, and yes- even fart! I know this seems rather simple and much like common sense, but when you witness their lives first-hand like that to know; it is a true blessing!
After Caramel was born, her father passed away, and sadly not too long after that so did her mom. Those days were probably the hardest we've ever encountered because we consider Taco and Chocolate family.
Caramel is special to my sister and I because she got us through a lot. After her parents' passing, she was all that we had left of them. She is the color of caramel, which is why we named her Caramel, or Cami for short. (We have a preference to naming our pets food, not because we think that they are food, but because we feel it is cute! Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?) She has the figure of her mom and the colors of her dad. From the minute she was born, and we saw the same spark of life in her eyes as her parents - we knew that she was special.
We take her to the park to share her existence with the community like we used to with her parents, but it wasn't until one day that I took a picture of her and uploaded it to the Internet that people off the island could see her too.
Taco, Chocolate, and Caramel have each enriched my life just for being a part of it. To me that means the world.
