Coffee and Cream are brothers. Coffee is the black one, Cream is the Algerian Fox color type. They are both very laid back and tame, but Cream is such a scaredy-cat! If anyone comes into the room, he runs for cover. Coffee doesn't scare at all.
Coffee and Cream were bought together a year ago as a birthday present. Mom bought them for my 10th birthday present. She took a picture of the gerbils at the store. Cream and Coffee were there, and their black and white brother. I really wanted to buy all of them but we could only get two.
They love to chew but have never learned how to run on a wheel! They used to be allowed on our shoulders, but then they began chewing on our shirt collars, so they can't do that any more.
Coffee and Cream are affectionate for gerbils. They have never bitten anyone. My sister has long hair, and sometimes the boys will climb up her hair to the top of her head!
We have had other gerbils that love fresh veggies, but these boys are a lot like me. "Veggies! Yuck!" Unless, that is, one of them decides a carrot looks tasty. Then the other one will suddenly decide HE has to have that exact carrot piece, and they wrestle for it.
They don't burrow, but they do have a log to sleep in, or sometimes they'll just make a sleeping area on top of the cardboard bits they've chewed up. They're so cute in their gerbil-pile! They are the best pets.
