Loppie
is an amazing rabbit who can withstand anything. Dwarf Lop rabbits are
only supposed to live six to seven years outside, which is where she lives. She is
already six-ish (no one really knows for sure) and is still acting like she's
one. She also has been through a lot of things in her life. She has withstood
my sister. That takes a lot. She has been sent down the slide, picked up by
her ears, put into the bike basket, and more that I won't name. Let's just
say Loppie is "Iron Rabbit."
Now for a bit of Loppie history: Loppie was born some time in August. We
picked her up from a farm sometime in September and brought her home with
another rabbit (my rabbit) named Dutchess. This was many years ago so my
memory is a bit spotty but I will try my best to describe the next few years.
So Loppie spent most of her days roaming in the backyard while me and my
siblings played. She lived in a small cage-like house in the backyard. Thats
where she still resides to this day. Not much happened in her life for a few
years but she and Dutchess fought. A lot. We originally got them one cage to
share. Then we found out that they're both girls, and so fought a lot, biting
at each other's necks and kicking like crazy. So finally we separated them.
They lived across the patio from each other for many years. One day we were
baby-sitting my uncle's hunting dog. Sadly, only Loppie made it out of the
experience alive. After Dutchess was gone, I took responsibility of Loppie
since my brother only said he owned her so my little sister couldn't play
with her. I cuddled her and cared for her for a while. She had many years of
peace and quiet for quite a while. She liked to pee on things though. Loppie
peed on me and in my tree house many times. That wasn't fun to clean up. But
Loppie is a great rabbit and has done a lot for this family. Did I mention
she has never ran away once? She's a calm rabbit.
So there you have it; Loppie the rabbit. I hope you like her. Her story isn't much to anyone else, but it means the world to me.
