We
adopted Sugar in August of 2010, from a Petco, and immediately fell in
love with her. She is a PEW - that stands for Pink Eyed White guinea pig. She
would snuggle up on your shoulder, and would tell you when she needed to do
business by nibbling on your shirt. She has a scar on her ear when a big
guinea pig got into a fight with her before we adopted her. When we brought
her home, we built a huge cage with two levels for her to explore, but then
read somewhere that guinea pigs are pack animals, and decided to adopt two
cute guinea pigs, Belle and Daisy.
Belle was an American, and Daisy was an Abyssinian. We loved them for years,
and they even lived through two house moves, but it was October of 2013 when
Belle passed away of a Fungal Infection in her respiratory tract. Two years
later, after Sugar became classified as a overweight pig, Daisy died of the
same thing as Belle. I forgot to mention, Belle and Daisy are birth sisters.
So here Sugar is, maybe a little lonely but still cute, and forever my piggy.
She grew up with those poor pigs, and even almost got taken off by a hawk
when we are outside with her one day. Here's to Sugar, the survivor guinea pig!
