Lotus
is a little guy with too much cleverness than his size shows. A bit
larger than his brothers, I call him my chubbs. He's not afraid of exploring
and is super friendly. He's easily the friend to hold when you're sitting
down and want your day made. It's not much what he does, but his personality
and energy that entertains.
He loves sunflower seeds and running around the floor. He has three other
brothers he shares the tank with. He has a mostly white/gray shy brother
named Gandalf, an all black energetic brother named Fenrir, and Drix the
curious daredevil. Lotus himself is a mix of colors. He's got white, brown,
grayish- beige with a black tipped tail. From the first moments with Lotus he
showed he wasn't afraid and was in fact very loving (Even if you didn't have
any sunflower seeds). He's not much of a digger and has lately taken it upon
himself to run every day on the wheel. I wonder if I can still call him my
chubbs later when he's run enough miles for a marathon!
Lotus' favorite hobbies mostly include eating and he definitely lets you know
when he's bored by laying down and staring at you, or getting your attention
by scratching the glass in your direction. That's not the only thing he likes
to do. Aside from running and hiding under furniture, he's caring to his
brothers. He's affectionate when he grooms their fur, often making sure no
one gets left out. If any of his brothers are laying outside taking a nap
it's almost a given he will cuddle and nap next to them.
These are my first pets that are gerbils. I knew when choosing my gerbils,
Lotus had to be picked. He never bites and likes to be held. He doesn't know
any tricks or games yet but does know his name. He also will climb on your
hand to say hello. Sometimes you can catch them watching you, which makes for
interesting stare offs. The great thing about my gerbils is how they are all
brothers yet different in personalities!
I've grown to love Gerbils as if they were family, even made a bigger tank
for them to live in. The happiest gerbil that runs every day seems to be
Lotus, outrunning even Fenrir who is seen at the wheels all morning! He's
quite cute and I love him!
