This is Venus, she is a Solomon Island Eclectus female. She just is special! She's a fun little trouble maker, and adventurous. I love her trust and she is entertaining. She's a great little friend to have in my flock. I love my little stinker, her knick name is Beep Beep because when she does her flock call it sounds like a horn going Beep Beep. When I got her, I learned afterwards that she was a rehome and because of a poor seed diet, she had some serious health issues. She's been doing great with her recovery, on a fresh food diet that has really helped in turning her health around.
Recenty we visited with my parents, and had dinner. They hadn't met Venus yet so I took her, especially since she has been a super cuddle bug today. Well, my other bird Buddy's previous owner's son was there, he and Buddy had some not so happy encounters but he fell in love with Venus, everyone did. Dinner for the humans included brisket, fresh corn, slaw, and charro beans.
Venus was in heaven and was my mother's BFF quickly. She had some beans, cabbage, corn on the cob, watermelons and grapes. The grapes were tossed, corn went every where, she was visiting everyone at the table for hand outs, and everyone enjoyed the visit. I was really impressed with how Venus warmed up quickly and she did so well socializing with the family.
She really is a special little girl!
