Nima is one of the best pets I could ever ask for. She is highly
intelligent and beautiful. She helped me get through a lot of rough
times. Nima can sense when I am sad. When I am and she is on me, she
will snuggle up with me and just stay there for hours and she gives me
kisses.
When she was first born at the pet store where my mom worked, she was
just the most energetic little baby that was there. She was the sweetest
thing, always trying to clean her sisters and play with her mom. So when
I actually got to choose my rats I ended up choosing her! It was kind of
a battle between me and another person because we both wanted her and I
got her, thank God.
I decided to get rats because they are easy to take care of they are
very intelligent and smart and where I live we can't have cats or dogs
so we were kind a limited on the pets we could get. I just saw rats'
little faces and decided to go with them and they are the most amazing
animals that I have ever owned.
Nima does know some tricks; she can stand up on her hind legs and dance
around in a circle, but does so only sometimes and only if I have a
treat in my hand. She loves her treats. When she was younger, her
favorite game was playing tag - if I held still, she would run over and
hit me with her foot then run away. We could just play that for hours,
but now that she's gotten older that she doesn't really play as much.
When rats become older, they become couch potatoes.
Nima loves to cuddle, and she loves to give kisses, but I can't always
get her to do it. If she's in a really really good mood one day, she'll
just give you a kiss. She loves to organize her own cage and put her own
toys and places for food in different places, make up her own little
blankets, make up her own beds and fix around her boxes. She doesn't
like when I touch it, so I really do think that she is a very
independent rat. I just love my Nima so much and I don't think I can get
it all in words, but she really is amazing!
