This is my little Long-haired Syrian hamster, his name is Sherlock. When we change his bedding every week, we give him a chew toy. When he gets said chew toy in his mouth, however, he runs around his cage like he's lost his mind (which I
think he temporarily does). It is interesting - most people do not know how much personality these little guys can have. He loves running in his hamster ball, as you can see. This picture was taken by my sister, and I think it shows his character well.
He's our second hammie (our nickname for hamsters), because our first hamster, Houdini, passed away.
That night, my sister and I could not get to sleep, so after school the next day, we went to get Sherlock.
Hammies are the most adorable creatures on earth! He loves the "insanity treats" as mom and I call them.
He also has two little fur dimples (another thing our family came up with), one on each side of his body, by his hips.
He is a funny little guy, and we love him!
