Rosie
is my Christmas guinea pig. I got her on Christmas day as a baby. She
was very timid and scared the first few days, but as she grew she became
braver but still a little skittish. I had been saving up money to buy a pet
when I got Rosie for Christmas. We all took turns holding her and then we put
her back in her cage.
Rosie has an extreme attitude and is very picky about what she eats. She will
only eat purple grapes, not green, only purple. She likes kale and spinach as
well as carrots. Like most guinea pigs, she enjoys Timothy Hay. She also
enjoys spreading the Timothy Hay around her cage and making a huge mess for
me to clean up.
Her hobbies include bullying our dog even though she is way smaller than him.
Rosie loves to hide in boxes and under chairs. She likes to scurry under the
table and bob and weave around the legs of the chairs. When she was younger,
I would set her on my lap to watch movies with my family. I didn't know then
that I had to give her potty breaks if I was going to keep her out for long
periods of time. And that resulted in her peeing on me several times.
Thankfully, the potty problems stopped around the age of one or two.
She has recently upgraded into a bigger cage with a ramp. I had hoped she
wouldn't have any problems with the ramp. At first she was uneasy about the
ramp but she soon got used to it. Now she is running up the ramp into her
sleeping house every day. Rosie is very special to me and I love her so much!
