THIS...
IS... SPARTAAAAA!!!
I got Sparta a year and two months ago, from someone who obviously knew
nothing about birds. They fed her just sunflower seeds and had boring dowel
perches and no toys. I'm glad I got her when I did, Being the second bird I
had ever owned, I only knew half as much as I do now.
The first cage I had her in was a bit too small, but of course I didn't even
think of that a year ago. She is now a much happier bird, still bites because
of those previous owners, but I love her anyway <3 She has a huge cage, it's
about as tall as me, has tons of toys, good food, and literally zero dowel
perches. I threw them all out as soon as I could.
Sparta loves being petted, but she has to trust you, otherwise she'll just
bite you so hard it almost bleeds. She's not very fond of people's hands or
other birds. She's not mean to other birds, but doesn't like them if they
bother her. She has a cagemate to keep her company, and they don't bother each other.
She's pretty laid back, and will love you if you have millet in your hand,
but as soon as you put the millet down, she's not so nice anymore. When I say
"Laid back" I mean not spunky. My favorite thing to do with her besides
playing with her is to introduce her to people. With her name being Sparta
and all, I like to just say "THIS ... IS ... SPARTAAAA!!!" from "The 300"
movie. Trust me, it's fun.
The other birds here are mean to her. I don't know what's wrong with two of
my budgies and lovebird, but they just land on her back like she's a perch.
What in the world... Like I said I don't know what's up with the landing on
her thing but it's pretty mean to poor Sparta. Her cagemate is a budgie and
he's pretty nice and stays out of Sparta's way.
