See Kyroga the Bearded Dragon, the Pet of the Day
Name: Kyroga
Age: Two years old
Gender: Male
Kind: Bearded Dragon
Home: Monmouth, Oregon, USA

Kyroga is my special little boy. He was 8 months old when I rescued him and he was kept in a ten-gallon tank with poor lighting and no physical contact at all. The first day I saw him I almost cried. He was curled up at the bottom of his tank and he looked like he was ready to give up. It took me two seconds to pay the woman I rescued him from and take him out - at which the woman protested.

He never bit me, he never struggled, instead he looked at me and I saw a little spark in his eye. I put him on my shoulder and left - he never tried to run and he sat on my shoulder for the entire drive home. Once I had his tank set up, he knew he was home, and he had changed my life.

Soon he became a companion pet and was registered through the state. Every time I go to work, he goes with me and he helps with the disabled adults I support. I never leave the house without him and because of that, every day he makes a difference in the lives of the people he meets. He has helped a girl overcome her fear of talking in public and she gave a speech at the capitol. He's helped another become more responsible and now she has her own pet to care for. He's helped a small boy realize that, even with his disabilities, he can have a companion to love that will love him back.

He's been a spokesman for his species and due to that, several of his kind have been rescued by loving homes, including his two little brothers. His heart is a thousand times bigger than I could have ever dreamed. He is the most amazing little man I've ever had in my life. Some days, I don't know who rescued who.

By the way, he's fit as a fiddle now besides some fused vertebrae on his tail and a small underbite. Those grey spots are actually his natural pattern. He just has odd yet beautiful colors. I didn't know he had them until I gave him the proper diet. I've only had him for a year and he's already changed my life.

Kyroga and his brothers are incredibly spoiled with their own giant personalized tanks. He sleeps in a dog bed with a heating pad at night because he needs to sleep next to me. I guess I have taken animal spoiling to a new level.
