Charlie
is a beautiful show horse, though he is quite tall and very solid, he
truly is a gentle giant. He follows you around the paddock and loves licorice
and cuddles. He's six years old, most of my horses are under seven, expect two, and
one of those is now retired. He was washed two days before this photo and then
"rugged" to keep clean for the show.
Like most horses, he loves to want to roll after a wash, they love rolling
all the time, its a matter of washing them, allowing them to dry off while
still in the wash bay. I get his stable cleaned out and place his feed in and
fill up water etc. keeping him in the washday while I do that allows him to
dry and not roll in dirt or mud. It also keeps him out of the road while I
get their stable ready. Then when he is dry I put a skinny hood over their
plaits to keep those in place and pressed to the neck, put a rug on him and
put him away for the night. That's the only was to keep him so clean!
He always tries his hardest to please and is always willing to learn new
things. His efforts are so endearing you have to love him!
