This
is Mustache wishing everyone a Happy Halloween from his new home in
Alabama. Mustache started out in Colorado with a military family. They
transferred to Alabama, and he made the trip with them. Mustache was
diagnosed and treated for lice. After some time, the family decided to turn
him into Animal Services. Since I have adopted guinea pigs from there before,
Dr. Sheppard called me about Mustache. I picked him up immediately.
The next step was to make an appointment with my vet and have him checked and
neutered. They could not find any lice, fortunately, but did clip his toe
nails and teeth while he was asleep for his operation.
Mustache is a sweetheart. Since he is two and a half years old, I saw no
reason to change his name, even if I don't see a mustache on him. At present,
he lives alone, as he is sort of shy. Later I may try to bond him with some
other neutered males or maybe a female, if one comes available. He does seem
happy now, and that's what counts the most!
Mustache is the quietest piggie I have. He lets me pet him and pick him up.
He let me put that little collar on with no problem for his photos. He is
very cooperative. I really don't know why those people turned him in. The
lady said she was tired of dealing with the lice, but he doesn't have it, and
besides, it's very easy to treat. He truly is a sweetheart.
