Foxy
is my fourth bunny, but only my second Netherland Dwarf. After my
ten year old bunny passed away, my dad, with whom I was still living at the time,
decided he did not want any more animals at the house. After lots of
persuading I got him to agree to get a small pet. We went to a breeder and
got a Netherland Dwarf, which unfortunately passed away after a year, but by
then I was in love with the breed. A few week later we went to get Foxy. The
breeder told us it was a male and for about four months we referred to Foxy
as he. You can imagine how shocked we were when the vet told us it is a she!
When Foxy was about half a year old I moved in with my boyfriend, and took
Foxy with me. She got the porch to herself, as opposed to the cage she used
to live in before. Foxy enjoys lying on the cold marbles in the hot Israeli
summer, she hops around, she is a calm yet stubborn bunny, which will tell
you what she wants. If you dare put a remote control on the sofa while she is
sitting there, she will push it off to the floor, if you want to pick her up
when she doesn't want to, she will snore at you. Foxy is also a sensitive
bunny, she knows exactly how I feel, and if she senses that I am angry she
won't let me play with her. However, if I am sad she will lie in my lap
quietly and cuddle.
