My
little Rose (nicknamed Ro) is just the sweetest little thing ever! She is
the first guinea pig I have ever owned and I got her when she was just under
a month old. I had been really wanting a guinea pig for some time and on my
sixteenth birthday my parents agreed on allowing me one, as long as I took care of
it alone. We went to the nearest store and upon seeing her I just knew she
was perfect for me. She was a little shy in the beginning but now she is
always happy to see me, especially if I have food!
Ro is very easy to care for I simply feed her twice a day (morning and
night), spot check her cage daily and make sure she has a constant hay
supply. She also has treats that I give her, ranging from fruits to veggies.
Her all time favorite treats are carrots.
In the afternoon when I get home from school I let her run around my room.
When I sit on the floor Ro will climb up onto my shoulder and start wheeking.
Wheeking is a high pitched squeaking sound that guinea pigs make when they
are happy or excited. I love her!
