Beardy
is a very unique animal, not just because of her vibrant colors or
scaly skin; her personality is what makes me believe she is special. She has
always been extremely cuddly and curious of the world around her. She likes
to climb upon my shoulder and tuck her head into my neck. She also likes to
watch me do certain things. I've noticed when I sit down at the table to eat,
she watches me from her cage.
Beardy gets along with my cat and dog, and sometimes she even lays with them.
She is also very fond of car rides! She likes to crawl around the yard and
bask in the sun. Beardy enjoys grapes and mealworms mostly.
When I first got her, I thought she was a boy. I've had her since I was twelve.
When I turned nineteen, shortly after, she began to lay eggs, and I discovered she
was a girl. I thought it was interesting how that could happen. I love my
bearded dragon very much and recommend them as a pet for all ages. Bearded
dragons are very cool and all have different personalities.
She is very special to me. Like chameleons, bearded dragons often change
colors to reflect their mood. I believe there were times her colors were more
bright because she is sunning. Sometimes she'll turn black or gray in order
to absorb the sunlight. The brightest of these pictures was from last October
in 2013. The ones with her mouth open are pretty recent! I think when she's
happier, she has brighter colors. Sometimes she gets grumpy or is turning
darker colors to absorb warmth. It's pretty interesting, imagine if humans
could do that!
