Emrys
once lived with his three brothers Bilbo, Clyde, and Romeo but
unfortunately they all- but Romeo and Clyde- had to be spilt and now
Emrys lives alone.
Back then, he was the most submissive one and ended up getting hurt
the worse. He has a lump at the base of his tail from where he got
bitten by his brother though he is in no pain with his tail now, it
knocked his confidence a lot and he was very scared. It took a lot of
loving and TLC to bring Emrys back out his shell and if anything,
living alone suits Emrys better; he is a very sweet boy that loves to
snuggle up close to you, and purr as loud as possible. Emrys' biggest
pride is making his bed absolutely perfect to a "T" he will spend
twenty minutes chewing, sorting and getting comfortable before going
to sleep; even then it may not suit him and go out do something else
like get some food then go back and spend another twenty minutes on
his bed, now that's what I call picky and also the nursery story "The
Princess and The Pea" comes in to mind.
For a while Emrys was in my sister's room and she sings a lot. I think
he has grown to like being sung his favourite song "The Lonely
Goatherd" from "The Sound of Music," but we refashioned it 'round him.
It goes like this:
High on a hill was a fluffy Gerbil
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
He squeaked back to the other Gerbils
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo
It always seems to cheer him up. Emrys is very pampered as he loves
his baths and a good hair dry (can see in picture with hand after
bath). He also has his weekly gerbil chocolate treats so you can say
he is very very well loved.
