Basil
is my special little friend! I always wanted to have a pet
lizard, ever since I was a little kid. After researching different
reptiles, I decided on bearded dragons. So when a locale pet shop was
selling baby bearded dragons, I went to see them.
I picked out the nicest looking one, and the first time I held him, I
knew he was meant to be mine! I did not want to put him down, but the
pet shop people insisted on putting him in a little box.
I got him home and set up his tank and he seamed to be tame from the
very first day! When I got him, he was six months old, and five inches
long. Now, at four years old, he is twenty three inches long! He is
very tame, and likes to take naps on my shoulder. I have a custom made
lizard snuggy for him, he seams to like it.
I have had many pets while growing up, but Basil is the most special!
Out of all the pets I've had, Basil needs the most care, such as
special lizard lights, vitamins and live bugs! When I had just gotten
him, the crickets he ate kept getting lose, and they would be loud at
night! But, I promised him that I would always do my best to care for
him! I hope everyone who reads this can appreciate him like I do!
