Narukami
is the seventh guinea pig that my family has owned and I'm
quite grateful and proud to know to own such a sweet animal.
My beloved guinea pig, Narukami, was acquired at Petco on July 11,
2013. My family were originally going to only purchase a couple of
female guinea pigs, but a man really pushed him on us. Not only was he
was so adorable, he actually came to the cage purring. I only had to
pet him before I figured that I wanted him. I wanted to ask my father,
but decided against that. Fortunately, my father said yes when the man
pursuaded us, so I became happy.
I would guess he doesn't know his name because, Narukami has four
syllables. I also call him several unsavory nicknames. Still, all you
have to do is approach the cage and he'll run over to you after a few
seconds. Narukami is very affectionate as he loves being petted.
However, he doesn't like being hugged too much. He has nipped me a bit
too hard, but it's only happened a couple of times. He might be
sleeping, but if he gets woken up, he just wakes up purring. He has
chewed a few things that he wasn't supposed to chew, but wasn't his fault.
Narukami's bowl is usually filled with pellets although he has
occasionally been fed a bit of lettuce. He doesn't really touch it.
His cage does get cleaned out. Vitamin C has to be put into his water
because, his body doesn't produce it, and he refuses to eat his
lettuce. His nails have been clipped one or twice. He is let out of
his cage, but he doesn't move around a lot. He normally sits in a
black chair, as he is not allowed to burrow under the pink sheet that
he sits on. For the most part, it's not too hard taking care of him,
and I love him!
