This
is Teddy Schaf (sheep in English). He is a fun-loving hamster is
happy about everything. Teddy Schaf unfortunately did not have it good in
his life, he lived for weeks with a family who had probably bought it as a
toy for their children. He live in a very small (30cm, 1 foot) cage without food
and water, the bedding was so dirty, it was just awful.
When the family was then evicted, they grabbed their belongings and ran,
leaving Teddy the lonely sheep behind, right in the living room, condemned
to die. My mother had to clean out the apartment and saw only this small
cage which was very dirty and no food and water. At first she thought it
would be empty, as she thought, "Which animal could survive in there?"
Suddenly there was a rustle in the shavings and a white half-starved
bundle of fur waddled towards her. When she saw him, was immediately clear
that he would remain with us, he would finally live a good life.
He was from the beginning a rather super hamster. Although he looked
disheveled and was totally matted, however, he was glad now that he would
now finally get food and water. He had probably not had any for
days/weeks, because all his supplies that hamsters usually stash away were
no longer present.
Now he does gymnastics after a short rest in our home , and is happy in
the new large cage we got him. His favorite activity is peeling the bark
from the natural woods we bring him, and watching our cats from the safety
of his new home. He also likes to put his food supply in his sand bath. We
are glad he is with us.
