Shane
was a horse given away to my family for free. He is a Quarter
Horse/Arabian cross. He was beaten as a baby and is afraid of many things
including mud. He helped me to learn how to train horses to do things like
go over poles without fear and bridges as well.
Shane taught me not to take a horse's attitude when they take advantage of
you without getting angry yourself. Shane also gave me my first fall and
helped me to analyze my ideas before doing them, as well as to listen to
my horse to know if it is fear or frustration that is keeping us from
doing something. He has taught me so much, and we have taught him life can
be good in return. Don't worry about him in that one picture he is wearing
a fly mask. He can see fine, it just keeps the flies from buzzing around
his eyes and bothering him! We love him a lot.
