I
got Sammy for my other bird Star after his other friend Sky started being
mean to him. She was my fourth parakeet. First I had Star and Skittels, but
when Skittels passed away suddenly, I got Sky so then Star wouldn't be
lonely. When Sky became mean to Star all of a sudden, I separated them and
got Sammy! And I am glad I did.
Sammy was a great bird! I got her from a pet store so when I first got her
she was very skittish. But I hand tamed her and then she was very sweet. She
could be a little nippy at times but never bit me very hard. She loved to
eat. Her favorite food was sweet potatoes and she would always get her face
full of it when she ate it! It was really cute.She could never be away from
Star for very long, or she would go into a chirping fit! Her favorite toy was
a bird nest made of hay. She loved to pull apart the hay and eat it!
Sadly, a one day we came home to Sammy and Star dead. Our cat had gotten into
the birds' room, knocked their cage off the desk, and the cage door came open
some how. Sammy was an awesome bird. I loved her very much. She will be
missed. Rest in peace, Sammy and Star.
