My
parents got me Rinjin as an early birthday present a few years ago.
I was expecting to get a bearded dragon about two months prior because
they said that I could get another lizard if I wanted (I've had two
leopard geckos for around seven years). I was super excited to get a
beardy, and then I found out about water dragons! I fell in love
immediately and dove into researching these amazing lizards. After
non-stop talking about how amazing these animals were, my parents
brought Rinjin home from our local pet store five days before my birthday.
Today, Rinjin lives in a six-foot tall custom built enclosure my father
and I made together. She is over three feet in length (expected to get around four) and
is a wonderful little subject for photos. Her favorite thing to eat is
earth worms and she eats crickets like popcorn! While Rinjin is a
fairly large lizard, and has claws that are pretty scary, she is
incredibly calm and doesn't mind being petted or taken out for an
adventure around the house. She also likes to sit on my head while I'm
on the computer or on my music stand near the window and look outside.
