This
is my special little girl, the only girl in my ferret clan and my first
to own. She is a very bossy little girl for her age, as she rules her group
and no one ever questions. She is also the smallest of the group but what she
doesn't have in size she makes up for in personality.
Shira is a special little surprise, as we did not know that I would have her.
After my friend rescued a ferret who, a few weeks later, gave birth to a
litter of fuzzies, my friend asked if I would like to own my own ferret. The
rest of my family had one, but I was waiting for the right one.
a few weeks after her birth, I came round to see the kits and see if any
caught my eye and there she was. Shira was asleep, ignoring her siblings
quite happy with taking up the cushions she was on. Once awake, I could see
her beautiful eyes and that she wasn't going to be bossed around by anyone.
This personality drew me to her and I decided to pick her up. She then
decided to sleep in my hand and thats how I knew she was going to be my
little princess.
We also brought home two of her sisters, who she still bosses around. She
loves meeting her other siblings when we're at shows, even if she tries to
boss her identical twin Xena around when she sees her again. Even though we
lost one of the sisters recently, this has not fazed her and she is now even
closer with the other one. Nnow they are a force to be reckoned with in this
ferret mad house. This is the story of my one and only princess and how we
came to be together.
I wouldn't be without my little one-year-old bab. With her attitude, she's like
the character Tinkerbell, she can only hold one emotion at a time, so her
mood depends on the day I catch her. But she's my special and only girl in a sea of boys!
