Chai
is my precious Northern Blue Tongue Skink girl, who is a sister to
Indivar! Her
parents were named Outback (father), and Katerine (mother), who are owned by
James Wilson in California.
For many years, I wanted a "Bluey," but as a child I couldn't keep reptiles
due to my mother's phobia of them. Of course, that didn't stop me from
catching little lizards and garter snakes outdoors, and my fascination for
animals never dimmed into adulthood. So now that I'm 28, Chai is very special
to me, in that I have wanted a pet like her for so very long.
I named her Chai, because that's my favorite kind of tea, and like the tea,
her personality is sweet and a little bit spicy! She eats Pedigree wet dog
food, ground lean beef, vegetables, leafy greens, meal worms, crickets, and
non-citrus fruits, and she loves to take huge bites of it all! She's
definitely not a nibbler.
She's extremely curious, and loves to perch on my arm or shoulder. She's also
very gentle, and careful when eating from my hands, and will even lick
blended fruit from the tip of my finger without trying to bite. Chai really
holds true to the reputation of her breed as a docile and easy- to-handle
pet, and I'm looking forward to the next 15+ years with her.
