Skanky, the Pet of the Day
Name: Skanky
Age: One year old
Gender: Unknown
Kind: Northern Blue Tongued Skink
Home: Jeffersonville, Indiana, USA

My first ever reptile was a Northern Blue Tongued Skink (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia) I named Sally. Long story short, I wound up selling her and had regretted it ever since. I went without a Blue Tongue Skink for quite some time. I missed having one. A reptile friend had some juveniles for sale and without question I purchased Skanky from him. I am so glad I did! I can't imagine not having one ever again.

I do not know whether Skanky is male or female yet, there is no easily spotted difference between genders in skinks. Their diet is very varied; feeding on various fruits, veggies, insects and even wet dog or cat food! They are truly a scaly dog when it comes to personalities. Skanky is a bit huffy with me, but only when I go to take him/her out, after that s/he's very curious and happy to just chill with me on the couch watching TV. I am so glad Skanky is mine!
