Sheldon
was rescued and has fought and beat a blood disease and worm problem.
He is now cured and living a happy and healthy life!
Sheldon is an active, curious tortoise who loves to explore and take on new
adventures. Every morning, Sheldon lets his mom know that he is awake and
ready for breakfast by making scratching noises on the side of his cage.
There is nothing in the world that Sheldon loves more than breakfast time. He
feasts on all sorts of fresh vegetables, such as kale, spring mix and turnip
greens. But his all-time favorite snack is zucchini. Sheldon rushes over to
this delicious treat every day like it's going to be his last meal. He
devours his food, and then moves on to his next line of business. During the
day he enjoys getting exercise; he will walk around the house for hours
before he begins to tire.
He is the most determined little guy I have ever known because he doesn't let
anything stand in his way. If Sheldon wants to be somewhere, there is no
obstacle that can stop him. He will push, climb, and wiggle through just
about anything so that he can get to where he wants to be. Because he's so
active, he's very strong, but also the most gentle tortoise I have ever
known. Sheldon is so friendly and not the least bit shy. He loves to meet new
people and will always come out of his shell to say hi. At night time,
Sheldon enjoys laying on the couch with us, watching TV and movies. After
being so active during the day, Sheldon will usually fall asleep on the couch
with us, dreaming of his next days adventures. With a kiss good night, we put
him to sleep in his tortoise house until the next wonderful day we get to
spend with who I truly believe is the most wonderful pet in the entire world;
our little Sheldon.
