This
is my budgie, his name is Kiwi. He is a handsome bird, and we can tell
he is a boy because his nares are blue. Nares are what those bumps on the top
of his beak are called. If they are blue, it is a boy, and if they are brown
it is a girl. White or pink usually means it is still a young bird, and to
know the gender for certain one would have to get their bird DNA tested - or
wait to see if they change colors. He turned three years old on July 2nd. I say
he is a budgie, but some people call them parakeets - it doesn't matter
really what he is called, he is a good bird no matter what! He is not just a
handsome bird, and very photogenic, as you can tell, he is my cheery little
friend whose bright colors brighten up any gloomy day!
